BIG! Big Records, Big Events & Big Ideas in American History

CLIENT: National Archives & Records Administration

This exhibition, celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the National Archives, featured many oversized documents and works on paper requiring a number of frames 10-14 feet in length. The framing of the USS Leviathon however, was the largest at 23 feet in length.

This watercolor and ink rendering from 1924 had never been exhibited because of its size and required tremendous planning and careful design to execute safe handling and assembly, with the majority of the work taking place in the gallery where it would be installed.
